One of our favorite attractions is a small herd of Black tailed mule deer that frequent the compound. They will eat right out of your hand.
	In the Spring, hike to the majestic Brazos Cliffs and waterfall, just a few miles from the main lodge or explore any of our three National forests which border the Chama Valley, Carson, Rio Grande and Santa Fe.
Record Trout and Konkanee Salmon are waiting to be caught at nearby Heron Lake. You can fish in the small 1/2 acre pond across from the main lodge and in our beautiful Brazos River which is just a short walk from the lodge or just a few minutes away by car go fly fishing on the Chama river.

The Cumbres & Toltec Narrow Gauge Railroad runs daily May 29 through mid-October. It is the longest and highest narrow gauge railroad in America.

Enjoy world class Cross Country Skiing in beautiful northern New Mexico

Snowmobile in the wilderness just north of Chama, New Mexico.

Boating is offered by many fishing guide services in the area. See the beauty of Lake Heron from the comfortable deck of the pontoon boat. Please ask for more information when making your reservation.

Experience the thrill of river rafting on the nearby Rio Chama or the Rio Grande Rivers near Taos, New Mexico.

Elk can also be seen roaming freely and some of our guests have also spotted wild turkey, eagles, owls, bears and Stellar Blue Jays.
